| Walk for Dentaid (24.09.11)
Cath devised and mapped out the walk in the local countryside and the team collected sponsorship and donations in the months beforehand. Dentaid is a local charity to us, based in Salisbury, Wiltshire and the total of the funds raised is £323.25. Find out more about the charity here. |
| Hungerford practice refurbishment (15.08.11) Our Hungerford Practice was closed for the last two weeks of July while we had some building and refurbishment work carried out. The hygienist surgery has been revamped into our new decontamination room. This allows us to move closer to reaching ‘Best Practice’ Standards from the HTM01-05 Infection Control regulations. It does mean we are now operating just one surgery at the practice and so appointment times and availability may vary. Please speak to Linda or Cath if you have any appointment queries. |
| Hungerford practice day out (15.08.11)
An Excellent show which was very enjoyable. Afterwards we went to the Grand Imperial Chinese Restaurant just down the road, which was also very enjoyable; excellent service and the food was wonderful. |

![]() Well done Kylie! (11.08.11) Big Congratulations to Kylie who passed her National Examining Board For Dental Nurses (NEBDN) National Certificate and is now a fully qualified Dental Nurse. Kylie has worked in our Marlborough practice since 2008 and this comes after much hard work and dedication from Kylie, so well done! |
| Infection control training (30.07.11) On July 29th Marlborough and Hungerford practice joined together for our annual Infection control Training held by Shulke. We are pleased to report that we are achieving High standards in this area and are carrying out all of the essential requirements as well as working very hard and carrying out desired requirements to reach ’Best Practice’. This is something we are very proud of. |
Hungerford surgery refurbishment (08.06.11)
This year will see our Hungerford practice undergo refurbishments. The production of a decontamation room enables the practice to reach Best Practice Standards in cross infection.
This is going to reduce the practice to one surgery, so please look out for slight changes to our opening times and dentist working hours.
Annual fun day (07.06.11)
Each year the Williams Dental Practice has a day out chosen by the staff.
Following the success of Go ape last year, this time we decided on a pony trek. Two of us are experienced riders, whilst for the rest it was a little nerve racking.
We trekked from Pewsey Vale riding club around the country side, with beautiful views, including the white horse. We then walked along the canal to Gareth’s local at All Cannings and had a lovely meal.
Marlborough surgery refurbishment (06.06.11)
The refurbishments in Marlborough are now completed and we have had many positive comments on the new décor. The introduction of our decontamination room has allowed us to work towards Best Practice Infection control standards with the B.D.A and the Department of Health.
The new hygienist surgery has also enable us to progress with these standards, which in turn benefits our patients. We are all very pleased with our first extensive changes in 20 years!
British Dental Association Good Practice Assessment report (31.01.11)
We received the findings of our BDA onsite assessment carried out in December 2010 and are pleased to announce we are meeting standards in all of the 10 BDA criteria.
The report went on to give very positive comments about the practice and our team. "This small, well-equipped and well-run practice are keeping up to date with current requirements. The happy, friendly team listen to patient’s needs.”

| Mouth Cancer awareness charity walk 18 September 2010 (23.10.10)
On 16th September 2010, The Funky Tooth Fairies (Kirsty, Dawn, Kylie, Steph and Amanda) took part in the 5th annual Mouth Cancer Awareness Walk. This was a 10K walk in Hyde Park, London. We have again received generous sponsorship from our patients and have raised close to £500. Hopefully our pictures will give you a flavour of the great day we had. (We've also been featured on Dentristy.co.uk - click here to read some more) In its very early stages, mouth cancers can be almost invisible making it easy to ignore. You can improve your chances of survival if the cancer is detected early and rapidly treated. The mouth cancer foundation has a self check leaflet called 'Mouth Cancer - Know the Signs' which you can download from here. If you notice any unusual signs, come and speak to us or your doctor as soon as possible. |
Marlborough surgery refurbishment (06.09.10)
You may have noticed the refurbished reception area at our Marlborough practice, but there are lots more changes going on quietly in the background that are not so obvious.
To help us obtain gold standard best practice we’re creating a separate decontamination room. Our new room will provide a bespoke sterile environment.
And we’re upgrading the hygienist’s surgery. This will feature some of the most up-to-date equipment and a separate instrument sterilizing area.

On Saturday 26th September 2009, The Funky Tooth Fairies (Kirsty, Dawn, Kylie, Steph and Amanda) took part in the 4th annual Mouth Cancer Awareness Walk. This was a 10K walk in Hyde Park, London.
We dressed the part and not only proved very popular with locals and tourists alike, but also won 1st prize for fancy dress!
We completed the walk in two hours and a fantastic day was had by all. We would like to thank all our patients for their generous sponsorship and we believe at this stage we have raised near to £1000, so thank you once again.

Training Day with Absolute Dental (15.06.09)
Our latest training day for our practice staff with Absolute Dental Training was a great success. This is what Steph Mulford, receptionist at our Marlborough Practice, thought: "The whole team thoroughly enjoyed our 'First Impressions' customer care day training with Emma. The day gave us many great ideas to discuss and implement and our practice is now buzzing with enthusiasm. Emma made sure the day was very relaxing and all about our practice and not generalised, she really listened as well as advised. It was definitely one of the best training days we have undertaken." Absolute Dental

On Saturday 24th September, the team took part in a sponsored walk to raise funds for local charity ‘Dentaid'.
While the Hungerford practice was closed, Vernon and the girls took a trip to the Apollo Theatre in Victoria, London to see ‘Wicked’.
